    Description

    Vehicle Details
Here is featured a great Vanagon Westfalia tons of upgrades over the years and a lot time. I purchased the van in 2013 and shipped to Maui as our base camp it was a great vehicle and was my wives daily drive and beach cruiser, our youngest would fall asleep and it was the perfect napping van by the ocean. The past years I have been fully going through and upgrading for the next long haul, but plans have changes and it is now on the market for the next owner to enjoy. They are a few remaining details to get this van to GoWesty quality, but I am also not asking for the GoWesty restored price. The following works has been completed over the past 3 years. The van currently has 214,000 miles on it.Mechanical Upgrades and Replaced PartsRebuilt automatic transmission with GoWesty transmission cooler 5000 miles on itRebuilt Subaru 2007 2.5 NA engine from SunWest 5000 miles on itRebuilt high torque starter and adapter plate for the jetta TDI starter works perfect for the conversion.New Stainless steel coolant pipes from front to rear with all main hoses replaced.New stainless steel braided rear brake linesUpgraded front and rear big brake kit from smallcar performanceNew CV axles and jointsAll Subaru conversion parts from Smallcar performance.Smallcar modified wiring harness for the conversionShortened aluminum oil panStainless steel header and full exhaust/mufflerNew Coolant reservoirNew tiresThere is probably more new parts, but this is everything I can remember. If you go through and pull all the parts mentioned above you would probably spend ,000 to ,000 in parts alone.BodyProfessional repaint completed 6 months agoAll windows were removed and all new seals installed for all windows.Front and Rear bumpers from Gowesty with two hitches in front and rearUpgraded headlight kit with H-4s and relays for much better driving lightsVery nice undercarriage very little to no rust see pictures. This van was dealer undercarriage coated so it never was subjected to rust like many of the Vanagons.Interior I really like it but it is not stock and has been improved in my opinionBlue Recaro front seats supper nice and the front seat swivel so they still turn around just like the factor seats. Best part is they recline flat so the front seats can go into extra lounge position.Leather factory VW steering wheel.Red LED dash and instrument lightsRear seat is a new old stock Westfalia seat with headrest provisions. I only have one headrest with the sale.New GoWesty gray ABS door panels, you will need the rear hatch one since I did not get this one in the order.New gray front carpet kit from SewFineFront rubber matting perfect for the muddy boots and easy to cleanRockford Fosgate front speakersNew Kenwood CD player with Bluetooth and hand free phone mic.New full curtain set from GoWestyNew 3 window poptop canvas from GoWestyNew skylight crank and sealFaucet upgraded to Surflo has a much better angle adjustment, so it is easier to wash dishes.New surflo pump and hosesRemoved refrigerator for added storageRebuilt rear cabinet no overhead cabinet for added head room. I always tended to hit my head on the stock one. There is about ,300 invested in parts alone for this interior. It does need the following to be perfectly complete Needs passenger side visorNeeds rear rails for the curtain on the back hatch, I took them off and can't find them, but have the new gray curtain.Rear wiper wiring needs to be replaced.Front blower motor works, but is a little finicky sometimes. I removed the rear heater core for more storage under the seat so if you live in a cold climate you may want to reinstall this. There is no cold air conditioning. This is a really great van, really do not want to sell but it is time to pass it to the next person that will love it. Shipping to the west Coast is really easy, I can drop it off at the Port of Kahului in Maui and it will go to either the port of Tacoma Washington, or Long Beach California. When I shipped it hear 7-8 years back it was ,200 from Tacoma to Maui, so I imagine is has gone up, but you can contact young brothers to see how much it will cost to get to the West Coast. I thought this would be a great opportunity for someone the spend time in Maui camping in the van for a few weeks and then head back so don't be afraid of shipping the van it is pretty easy but obviously does add to the overall cost of the van.
